Dr. Lena R.Capapas M.D.

Certified,
American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine

Preventive & Healing Arts

Anti-Aging Medicine

Dr. Lena R. Capapas' internal medicine practice started in the allopathic mainstream but her association with alternative/integrative medical practitioners belonging to the American College for Advancement in Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine steered her towards a medical approach to health maintenance, prevention of and treatment of disease that emphasizes nutrition, detoxification, natural bio-identical hormonal replacement, lifestyle adjustments and spiritual growth as well as the addition of pharmaceutical drugs when necessary for immediate intervention . Her work is based on the premise that health is a natural state and departure from it (disease) is either caused, precipitated or aggravated by the absence of the biochemical substances that nature intended to be present for the human organism to function, such as food macro and micronutrients, minerals, enzymes, hormones and oxygen, just to mention a major few, and by the assault on the body by toxic substances and invading organisms such as viruses, bacteria and parasites. She strives to strongly support the immune system in health and diseased states but is not averse to prescribing drugs when necessary for short periods of time. However, she maintains a healthy respect for and remains carefully cognizant of detrimental drug side effects.

In her practice, Dr. Capapas takes care of men and women of all ages with concerns ranging from anti-aging and prevention of degenerative diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, obesity, arthritis, menopause, premenopause, andropause (male menopause), respiratory allergies, food allergies, intestinal dysbiosis such as candida overgrowth and bacterial overgrowth, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and heavy metal burden and toxicity.

Dr .Capapas had her training in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville Hospitals and in Cardiology at the University of Missouri Medial Center.
